West Brom have officially completed the signing of one Liverpool star.

Liverpool is undergoing what appears to be a significant summer clear-out under manager Arne Slot, as several high-profile and fringe players prepare to leave Anfield.

The most notable of these is defender Jarell Quansah, who is nearing a move to Bayer Leverkusen for a fee potentially rising to €41 million (£35 million).

But while the Englishman’s move to Germany is yet to be confirmed, another senior Liverpool defender has now completed his move to Championship side West Brom.

The player in question is Liverpool cult hero Nat Phillips, who has officially left the club after nine years.

The 28-year-old has been at Liverpool since 2016 but has now officially joined West Brom in a deal that will fetch the club around £3million ($4m), including add-ons, according to The Athletic.

“Albion are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Nat Phillips from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee,” a statement on the club’s official website read.

“The centre-back – who played 32 Sky Bet Championship matches on loan at Derby County in the 2024/25 campaign – has penned a three-year contract with the Baggies.

He becomes the club’s first signing of the summer, and arrives just before pre-season training is set to begin later this week.”

Speaking to the club’s official website after the move, Phillips said:

“A big factor was that this is obviously a big club with high aspirations – and I’d say those aspirations align with mine.

I think everyone at the club and involved would like to see it competing for promotion and pushing for Premier League football – and that’s the same as me.

“I’m really looking forward to it and as soon as I found out about the interest I just wanted to get here and get going.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always wanted to develop a rhythm and continue to play week in, week out?

I feel like I did that in the second half of last season, and I want to continue that rhythm and try to take that into the season coming up.

“I’ve had a number of loans over the past few year,s and it’ll be really nice for me and my family to go somewhere and know we’re staying there to develop a relationship with the club and the fans.”
